NICK GEERS HONORED FOR 60 YEARS PERFECT ATTENDANCE
Last week the Club took time to honor NICK GEERS for the remarkable achievement of maintaining perfect attendance for 60 years. This accomplishment was noted by District Governor Diane Donaher during her annual visit.
A brief history of Nick includes his joining the Club in 1963, serving as president 1981-82, assistant District Governor of Area 5, achieving Paul Harris Fellow status, along with his continual support for Club service and community projects.
Nick, we all appreciate and celebrate everything that you have done for Rotary and our Club.

Thanks to Judy Bucko for volunteering to help out with the Sole Harvest 5K race. The race event went on despite the weather as it helps the Norristown Hospitality Center caring for the homeless and needing.
Thanks Judy for volunteering.

Ronald McDonald House Zip Tab Collecting
Please Help the Ronald McDonald House

The Board has decided to ask our members to collect aluminum can zip tabs or 'pop tabs'. These can be found on not only soda cans but all sorts of canned drinks.  The local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House still collects them to turn in for recycling and proceeds go to help local families by paying family expenses to stay will their child is in the hospital.  Start a jar, they add up.  At the end of the year we will accumulate our collections and donate them to the Ronald McDonald House. Please see Vanessa Cossari for more information

DISTRICT GOVERNOR - DIANE DONAHER VISIT
ROTARY 7430 DISTRICT GOVERNOR DIANE DONAHER

Last Thursday, our club was visited by Rotary District 7430 Governor DIANE DONAHER and
AREA 9 Assistant Governor CLINT EHLERS. Governor Donaher spoke to us first about the history of women in Rotary, after a slow start in accepting women to the present condition where the present and next Rotary International presidents will be women. Diane has been involved with Rotary sine childhood where her family was active in Rotary and she became more and more her local Rotary Club. She highlighted this year's theme- CREATE HOPE IN THE WORLD, and the themes creation by RI President , R Gordon Mclnally, with an added emphasis on mental health. Diane has taken this theme and added to it with the theme of our district with her BEACON OF HOPE campaign, which lays out steps we can create hope in others. What our club has done in this regard was highlighted: shelter Box, Peddles for Progress, Dictionary Project, and the many local organizations we have supported in the past through fundraisers.
Governor Diane pointed out 4 areas that need attention in order for a club to succeed. They are 1. Membership- we are doing a fairly good job in this area thanks to Mark Call and his committee, 2. Public Image, where we also are in great shape, 3. Rotary Foundation where Jim Nutt keeps us in top standing, 4. POLIO eradication support.

The Governor recognized two of our members for her special Beacon of Hope Award; JUDY BUCKO and MARK CALL for their contributions to the club and Rotary.

She gave us stickers promoting her Beacon of Hope program.

That you Governor Diane for your informative visit to our club.
