BRENDA LEON - OVERVIEW DRONE PRODUCTIONS The Club had a very entertaining and informative meeting last week, when BRENDA LEON spoke to us about flying drones.Brenda has been flying drones for 6 years, getting into this activity as an extension for her main passion, taking pictures. She uses a drone to take unique and interesting pictures and videos for personal collections, as well as for commercial purposes. Brenda says that she fell in love with the many new perspectives she could get by using a drone. It changed how she sees the world. She has worked for WPVI TV for the last 35 years. She also has a full FAA pilot's license which allows her to participate in commercial ventures, such as real estate, parties, events, and to help local rescue units in searches and rescues. Her drone can be fitted with special cameras such as night vision, ultra violet, thermal cameras or many other high tech units to aid in special searches. A full FAA license is not required to enjoy most of the excitement these devices offer, the main restriction being that you can only fly within eyesight. A short test is needed to show an individual is aware of legal restrictions and knows the controls of their drone. Flying a drone is"easy", especially with the many electronic safety and control features available. Brenda shared several of her areal pictures and videos, demonstrating the dramatic views that are possible.
