Spring is almost here and we are gearing up for planting at the Rotary Garden.
But, before we can do that, we need to have a planning meeting.
If you are interested in being on the garden committee, please fill out the attached Doodle Poll with your availability for our planning meeting. Be sure to respond in the affirmative to ALL dates that work for you. We will call the meeting for the date and time that works for most.
I will be hosting the meeting at my home and food will be included 😀

The Salvation Army homeless shelter in Norristown was in need of new bed linens. During Covid, increased need for shelter coupled with greater financial challenges led to increased "wear and tear" with fewer dollars to replace worn out bedding. Rotary's grant provided nearly 100 sets of sheets for the 30 beds. This will allow sheets to be rotated, last longer, and be replaced a few at a time as needed, solving the linen shortage issue for the foreseeable future.

Each year the district hosts full day intense Saturday training on Rotary. It is a great opportunity to meet and network with others in the district who share your passion. Take some business cards if you have one.
This course is offered in 3 parts.
GOOD NEWS, new members and first time attendees go free. Go through the registration process, pay your fee and print off the receipt and give it to the club treasurer and we will reimburse you for registration. Our District 7430 event is held at De Sales University, Center Valley, PA.
Look under the Upcoming Classes on the left-hand side and scroll to RLI NEA Seminar - Dist 7430 - Center Valley, PA March 22th, 2025. Click on "More Info". A smaller window will open up. Scroll to the bottom and choose:
1. "RLI Guest Registration" if you have never been to RLI before.Then follow the instructions to register for RLI.
OR
2. "RLI Member" if you have registered for RLI before. If you know your login information, use that. If you don’t remember your login, click on “Request ezLink Registration Link” and you will receive an email with a link to easily register for RLI.
Note there are other events available if this date is unavailable to you.
Last Thursday the Club welcomed Steven Willis who states that he has the longest title in the Norristown School District - Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging officer for the NASD. His main task is to make sure all the elements that make up a complete education are made available to every student, especially those in the greatest peril of failing. And while DEI is a significant part of his job, he concentrates most heavily on the Belonging part. He say that he is "The Kindness Guy" of the school system. He pointed out that if he works solely on the center of the group that is the school, many will fall through the cracks, so his focus to in involve those on the edges, and work to encourage their sense of belonging. That includes self esteem and self realization enhancement. Mr. Willis noted that there is a "Belonging Gap" within all organizations and a student's success is , in a large part, determined how well this is handled. He stresses that each student has to realize that to be fully accepted and belong, the individual " has to be me", and not just rely on the number of friends he has. Belonging is how you feel in a space, and if Belonging Uncertainty persists, there is a decrease in levels of achievement , and that belonging goes a long way to fix that and strengthens lives.

We are the only non-profit, comprehensive crime-victim agency serving Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Our confidential services are provided at no cost to survivors of crime and their loved ones. Need help with day to day services. Collect used cell phones.
Volunteer at the Pantry or the Farm. Creating meal kits, distributing to guests. Plant pick and pack, help deliver and pick up from partners. Help feed the hungry.
