The club is planning a NEWSpring Plant Sale Fundraiser. The initial planning team includes, Diane Helm, Mary Onama, Rachel Copen and Robin Parker. If you would like to help, please reach out to one of the team members as we get this off the ground quickly. We are acquiring a wholesaler and details are forthcoming.
All 4 of our newest members Cliff Hirst, Jeanne Cove, Rachel Copen and Monica D'Antonio are all attending the Rotary Learning Institute this spring. And veteran Alan Treisbach as well. HOW ABOUT YOU ??
This training is offered annually near us in Center Valley (D7430) and Ambler (D7450).
This year Center Valley will be first time attendees only.
If you haven't attended, it is open to all Rotarians and our club will cover your registration fee. Make new friends with similar passions. Learn the in's and out's of Rotary.

Past President Robin is in rehab at the Genesis II facility in Montgomeryville, 640 Bethlehem Pike, Montgomeryville, PA 18936. She is hoping to leave there in coming weeks and needs to make a move to a more compatible apartment for assisted living. She could really use our help. Let’s rally around our beloved coach and friend Robin Parker. She has been an integral part of many of our lives on the river. Robin’s unwavering dedication and passion for dragon boating have inspired us all. Now, it’s our turn to support her during this challenging time.

Robin has faced serious health issues that have impacted her quality of life. Despite the hurdles, she continues to fight with remarkable resilience. Her commitment to the sport of dragon boating remains unshaken, even as she grapples with medical treatments and mounting bills.
How You Can Help
Medical Equipment: Robin urgently needs specialized medical equipment to aid her recovery. These tools are essential for her well-being and rehabilitation.
Medical Bills: The cost of medical care can be overwhelming. Let’s ease Robin’s burden by contributing toward her medical bills. Every dollar counts!

The Club again welcomed deserving students from Norristown Area High School to receive recognition for their scholastic achievements. Music was highly represented in this group, with most participating in choir, marching band, jazz band, and concert band. All had their interests sparked by the teachers they met in high school, and expressed how much the musical experience has meant to them as it has become a passion to a few . They have participated in District Choir, written compositions for band, been elected president of the marching band, and been involved in community events. High school has also inspired participation in school government , with one setting a goal and succeeding in becoming class president. Their futures include education in music, music education, animal or environmental science, and education. Schools they are considering are West Chester, Villoniva, Penn State, Ive League schools, and Temple.
We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
The Rotary Club of Norristown was happy to welcome State Senator AMANDA CAPPELLETTI to its March 14 meeting. The Senator talked about her work in the state senate, her connection to the Norristown community, support for the Zoo, Hospitality Center, and many other areas critical to maintaining the Norristown area.
In the Senate, she has supported legislation in Public Health with aid in home repairs, home safety improvements, making file alarms available, improving waste water treatment facilities, . She has also taken strong positions on preventing gum violence, rent controls, making sanitary products available for free in schools and other government facilities, and addressing the need for more maternal care including abortion. She has also introduce a new bill to stop "book banning".
Senator Cappelletti spoke also of the many other areas of support that her office provides and encouraged use to contact her with any questions or concerns.

You can help promote peace in the world by encouraging peace and development leaders in your community to apply for the Rotary Peace Fellowship.
Each year, Rotary awards up to 130 fully funded fellowships for peacebuilders from diverse backgrounds to study at one of our peace centers located at leading universities around the world. This year, we’ll select 50 peace fellows to study in our master’s degree programs at six partner universities in Asia, Australia, Europe, and the United States and 80 fellows to earn postgraduate diplomas through our professional development certificate programs at Makerere University in Uganda and Bahçeşehir University in Turkey.
Rotary Peace Fellows use their training to amplify their work at the local, regional, or global level. Together, we can advance peace by encouraging our local peacebuilders to learn about Rotary and apply for this unique fellowship.
But we need your help finding candidates. Rotary and Rotaract members can get involved by:
Forwarding the fellowship announcement to your contacts and including it in club and district communications
Using our referral form so potential candidates can receive more information and apply
Sharing a PowerPoint presentation about the fellowships with your club members and community
Taking the All About Rotary Peace Fellowships course to learn about the centers and fellowship qualification criteria, eligibility restrictions, and application process
Candidates have until 15 May to submit applications to The Rotary Foundation.
Thanks to generous support from donors and the dedicated participation of Rotary members, the peace fellowship program has more than 1,700 alumni working to make positive change in more than 140 countries. Many program alumni have founded their own organizations to address critical issues or serve as leaders in governments, nongovernmental organizations, educational and research institutions, media and the arts, and international organizations like the United Nations and the World Bank.
