* ANNOUNCEMENTS

FREE MULCH AVAILABLE

 If anyone is in need of mulch, there is still a pile at the Padden Park Rotary garden site that we did not use. Unfortunately, the township has no need for it either, so they would like us to remove it.

So, if you are able to use some/any/all of it, please help yourself.

If you have any questions, feel free to call me.

* NEWS
LAST WEEK

ACTION TANK- Matt Connolly- Clair Gunison

CLAIR GUNISON and  MATT CONNOLLY     ACTION TANK

Last week, the Club welcomed CLAIR GUNISON and MATT CONNOLLY from ACTION TANK to address us on the mission, goals, and action of their organization which was originally founded by service veterans with the goal of helping other vets in the areas of food insecurity, education, the environment as well as many other community social conditions that arise. They have now expanded their group to include non-veterans like attorneys, clinicians, students, all with the perspective of putting "boots on the ground" by sharing their experiences in problem solving.

The group was founded in 2017 and has currently has 20 members caring out community projects in the greater Philadelphia area. The projects include: "Irrigating" book deserts by supplying over 8000 books to communities in need of reading materials and holding books fairs; Food distribution in several Philadelphia areas; tree planting projects; and fighting drug and gun deaths.

ACTION TANK has numerous corporate partners in these tasks and recently received a large donation from SEI which allowed them to distribute a large number of gift cards in their fight against hunger.
We applaud them in what started as "Vets Serving Vets" and has grown to so much more.

Learn much more about ACTION TANK by visiting their website at:     actiontankphl.org

Thank you Clair and Matt
