Dress comfortably. We will be assisting us in receiving and sorting a large donation of food.
Please extend get well wishes to Jim Williams. Jim is recovering from some mobility issues, particularly with his knee. The knee is much better however strength and balance are a challenge.
He is currently admitted to Markley Rehab Center, Room 213 Bed 2, 550 Fornance Street, Norristown, PA 19403.
Jim hopes to advance to physical therapy rehab at the Sunrise facility on Johnson Highway possibly next week. He welcomes visitors.

Diane Helm will collect gently used, re-sellable items at a Rotary Table to raise funds for the Club. How to help.....Bring your donations to any Rotary meeting by September 10. Want to join the fun on the day? Sign up for a 2-hour shift to chat with shoppers. Share what the Norristown Rotary does, and help sell great finds. Celebrating Virginia Frantz' Retirement
Mark your calendar for the Montgomery County Foundation, Inc Luncheon on September 30, 2026 where we will honor Virginia Frantz for her 24 years of exceptional leadership and service to the Foundation.
Syron Bell was kind enough to attend as speaker and share his Rotary Youth Exchange Program experience. Syron recently participated in the program and visited the country of Brazil. While his initial hope was to visit France, other candidates encouraged him to select Brazil instead giving him and more cultural experience while improving his chances of selection. He said he was happy that he did so. He visited the country for six months and learned Portuguese while visiting. His hosts gave him the nickname of 'Synino'.
Sports are popular there, especially Soccer but since that is not his sport, he played beach volleyball and spent time visiting the local clubs. The locals are very active in the party atmosphere and he attended many such parties. It is part of the Brazilian culture. One thing he could not adjust to was the common phonomemnom of street dogs. As it was hard to know if they were friendly or the opposite. Food never seems to be a street persons dilemma there as they planted many Mango trees at which you could simply pick fruit and enjoy. Syron never drove a vehicle in Brazil and advised to always use an Uber, not only from a safety perspective but they knew where they were going. He found the experience very enriching and would return given the opportunity. In fact, he meets with his Portuguese speaking friends in the U.S. often at a Brazilian restaurant in Frankfort, Philadelphia to speak the language.
Shane told us he grew up mostly in the Schuylkill County area. He was active in Scouting doing community service. He still participates with his old scouting friends with whom he grew up. As a young scout Shane advanced and earned the honored rank of Eagle Scout. His mother, who is in banking and finance inspired Shane to follow in her footsteps. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Bloomsburg University and is currently pursuing his MBA there as well. Shane met his wife, Bradley at Bloomsburg University. He and his wife recently bought a home in West Norriton. Professionally, Shane started in banking over ten years ago and was recently promoted to Lender Manager. Shane said he was very social and enjoys doing projects and service especially Rotary.
