Oboarding Coach needed
HELP WANTED

CAN YOU SPARE A FEW MINUTES TO HELP THE CLUB?

The first year as a new Rotarian is overwhelming with the shear breadth of service Rotary provides.
Rotary is so all encompassing in scope and opportunities, it is like drinking from a fire hose for someone entering the organization.
Without help it takes several years for a new member to even be aware of everything. Our Sponsors propose new members but we need follow up coaching.
Our Membership Team has recently reorganized to streamline that process and make it much more efficient by delineating roles and responsibilities.

We want to assign an "Onboarding Coach" to each new Rotarian to help them through the first year. The critical learning year.
We have an organized checklist curriculum prepared for new members.

WE NEED A COUPLE OF ONBOARDING COACHES !

It only takes a few minutes each quarter but it requires followup commitment.
Below is a slide from the recent reorganization presentation. Note the duties of the Onboarding Coach.

Can you spare us a few minutes to share your expertise ?

If you have some experience under your belt which you can share,
please see Mark Call. - Please help, Thank you

Ronald McDonald House Zip Tab Collecting
image

Please Help the Ronald McDonald House

The Board has decided to ask our members to collect aluminum can zip tabs or 'pop tabs'. These can be found on not only soda cans but all sorts of canned drinks.  The local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House still collects them to turn in for recycling and proceeds go to help local families by paying family expenses to stay will their child is in the hospital.  Start a jar, they add up.  At the end of the year we will accumulate our collections and donate them to the Ronald McDonald House. Please see Vanessa Cossari for more information

JANET TREIMAN - RSVP

Last week, the Club welcomed JANET TREIMAN from  RSVP - an organization dedicated to helping volunteers find opportunities that fit their interests. Janet compared RSVP to MATCH.COM except with a more community service idea in mind. She is the Sr. Wellness and Volunteer Coordinator for the group, where she has been for 2 years, having previously served as a layer for a construction firm in Philadelphia for 14 years.
RSVP has over 1200 volunteers that it works with, delivering over 32,000 hours a year of service to community residents in need. Their group works in Delaware, Montgomery, and Chester Counties, and also provides services to students and veterans in Philadelphia County. Janet related that around 30% of Americans do volunteer work, with 60% of those being women. The area of hunger attracts the most volunteers , followed by wellness.Their organization works to direct potential volunteers to places that are in need of assistance. Janet detailed the several programs that RSVP offers volunteers and uses to uprepare them for working the the many areas that they support.

For further information, or to direct others to this critical service, go to rsvpmc.org  or call 610-834-1040 ex. 123

Thank you Janet for this informative talk.
