Hurricane IAN Update
We have heard from former members Paul Catrambone and Ron Chapuran. Thankfully, both former members and their families are doing well and neither they or their properties suffered damage from Hurricane IAN.
Rotary 'SignMeUp' self service volunteering
Now that we meet both in-person and virtually through Zoom, we made it easier to volunteer. 'SignMeUp' is a new electronic sign up list registration application which you can access from within Spoke right next to the actual event announcement.
Anyone, Rotarians, Friends of the Club and Guests are welcome to volunteer and it's easy to sign up.
You will see the the button next to the event announcement.
Click on the SignMeUp button and you can view the specifics about the job or role, a contact person and you can add your own name and include a count of friends coming with you to help. Please be sure to add your email (it will never be displayed) so that we can send you the latest information about the event.

October is. busy volunteering month. Our club is involved supporting 4 or 5 local events this month.
Mark your calendar for these events.
This week we reached out to more than a dozen individuals who have contacted us in the past via the web for information about joining Rotary. Many would love to volunteer but can't join right now often due to schedule. The Club would like to partner with our volunteers, and we are mailing postcards directly to them, personally inviting those interested to join us and volunteer to help and support our local community partners. These went out in the mail on Monday, already we are getting responses.
Make sure you drop by Rotary's graveyard display at the Norristown Trick or Trunk event 10/31 Norristown Rec Center. All this and much more.

President Sunanda has officially kicked off the 'Each One, Bring One' member campaign.
Rotary Clubs need to continue to grow in order to enhance our ability to dedicate resources to solving a community or global issue.
This year, President Sunanda is asking every Club member to bring a visitor, spouse, family, friend or acquaintance to our meeting and introduce them to Rotary.
If everyone brought a guest it would double our meeting size, and if half of the visitors discovered Rotary and became a member, the club would grow by 50%.
Please think about it this week and identify someone you would like to introduce to Rotary. Bring them to a meeting and tell them why you joined.
Is some of your expected gmail missing from the Inbox?
Aside from regular spam filtering, sometimes Google also takes a guess at your incoming gmail and pre-categorizes it in order to cut down on spam. The Tabs 'Social' and 'Promotions' capture some of your email instead. Well, Google doesn't always get it right.
Fortunately, even though that is the default setting, you can change the setting and control your pre-categorization completely and get all your mail back in the old inbox. YOU can select select the problem email in 'Promotions' and drag it to the inbox, OR.... A more reliable way is to control your own categories or simply have none at all. If you uncheck the 'Social" and 'Promotions' categories in settings, your future email will not appear in those virtual folders but rather in your old inbox as expected.
Here's what you do to fix it. Go to your inbox settings link. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/inbox Uncheck the boxes 'Social' and 'Promotions', AND CLICK SAVE From now on it will appear in the old inbox as expected.
