Help Robin Parker
Past President Robin is in rehab at the Genesis II facility in Montgomeryville, 640 Bethlehem Pike, Montgomeryville, PA 18936.  She is hoping to leave there in coming weeks and needs to make a move to a more compatible apartment for assisted living. She could really use our help. If you would like to make a donation , there is a GoFundMe established already and the information is included below. Her email is dragonboatcrew2@gmail.com.

The GoFundMe is organized by her long time friend  Nancy Sirolli-Hardy
Here is the Donation  Link    <=====

Let’s rally around our beloved coach and friend Robin Parker. She has been an integral part of many of our lives on the river. Robin’s unwavering dedication and passion for dragon boating have inspired us all. Now, it’s our turn to support her during this challenging time.

Robin’s Journey
Robin has faced serious health issues that have impacted her quality of life. Despite the hurdles, she continues to fight with remarkable resilience. Her commitment to the sport of dragon boating remains unshaken, even as she grapples with medical treatments and mounting bills.

How You Can Help
Medical Equipment: Robin urgently needs specialized medical equipment to aid her recovery. These tools are essential for her well-being and rehabilitation.
Medical Bills: The cost of medical care can be overwhelming. Let’s ease Robin’s burden by contributing toward her medical bills. Every dollar counts!

Our Goal
Our goal is to raise $15,000 to help cover some of Robin’s medical expenses and provide her with necessary equipment. With your support, we can help her regain her strength and return to the water she loves.

Ways to Contribute
Donate: Any amount you can give will make a difference.
Spread the Word: Share Robin’s story with friends, family, and fellow paddlers.

Together, We Paddle Strong!!!

Robin’s spirit embodies the heart of our dragon boat community. Let’s come together, lift her up, and propel her toward recovery. Your support will show Robin how much we care and thank her for what she has meant to so many of us.
Thank you in advance for being part of her journey.
Paddles up!!!

LAST WEEK

Recycle, Read Repeat - Kate Jaworski

Our speaker this week was Kate Jaworski of Read, Recycle, Repeat. Kate along with co-founder Angela Smith started a local book store and online book of the Month Subscription service.
RR&R originally started in Kate Basement but soon grew to their present book store at 208 Cherry Street, Norristown.  Their book sources are Books from private library sales, private donations and
they also partner with the Montgomery County Library.  All books are from local sources. They also specialize in teen books.
They run a Book of the Month subscription service where they ask the reader to profile their interests and they hand pick selections for the customer.

Both Kate and Angela were former educators. for 15 years.  Their foci are Community, Literacy and Environmental Stability.
All of the furniture and bookshelves in their store is recycled second hand furniture.  Even the books they send out use no bubblewrap or shipping peanuts. Instead they bater with Fabscrap of Phil for
recycle material. Their wrapping is often discarded fashion ware which come from from prototype clothing so as to not fill the landfill with material.

They plan and schedule free local literacy workshops and writing workshops. As well as other cultural topics like art and music. They also operate a teen writing club.
