Have you ever considered being more involved with your Rotary Club?
The Rotary Club of Norristown needs a few volunteers to fill key leadership positions in the coming years. These are very fulfilling volunteer positions and they provide an opportunity to give back to our community.
Do you know of another club member who may be a good fit? Are you interested?
Please reach out to Club President, Alan Treisbach for more details!
Thank you for participating in the food drive on Saturday. Your participation helped to make the drive a success!
I estimate that we handed out roughly 150 grocery lists, collected 13 or 14 heaping full carts filled with grocery items. Also, we collect $ 285.00 that will be converted into groceries later today.
BRAD McLAUGHLIN - President Norristown Chamber of Commerce
We were very fortunate to have as a substitute speaker, Brad McLaughlin ,President of the Norristown Chamber of Commerce. He spoke about several projects and functions of the Chamber, but focused mainly of the Norristown Ambassadors. This recently formed group, is tasked with generally improving the downtown area of Norristown by maintaining and improving the area with litter and graffiti removal, helping visitors with directions and information, remove and educate on dog waste. The objective is to create a clean, safe, and welcoming community that helps attract more customers for local businesses. The Ambassadors are run and funded by cooperation with an organization Block by Block, who coordinates and action plans and activities . Montgomery County also lends support for the effort. You can see members out around the Court House dressed in yellow jackets. They are year round, 8 hr a day city employees. Their first area of concern has been around the court house, but they will be expanding soon into other areas such as Marshall Street area.
Brad gives much credit to Leonard Lightner for his dedication and continued drive to create the Norristown Ambassadors.
Thank you Brad, for giving us this informative talk.
See the attached flyer with Michelle Koch's information. She is helping our district's clubs create their IMPACT Clubs. More will be mentioned during club visits. Get those brains thinking!
