FRANK RAUSCHER local artist Last Thursday, the Club had a special treat as local wood carver FRANK RAUSCHER, brought a few of his fantastic carvings, mostly of birds. Frank loves to create and has been doing so for about 50 years, with the last 20 years concentrating on carving birds, and has perfected his skills to a award winning status in the wood carving community. He demonstrated some of the equipment involved in carving and described a few of the techniques used in creating his beautiful works. He got into the hobby be seeing a YouTube video, and now has progressed to the point where he is making teaching videos for those wishing to get into carving. He love the teaching aspect of his hobby. In the past he would participate in 12 shows a year but is cutting back now, preferring the teaching part. Observe some of his creations below.
