RASHAAD BATES- EWASTE GANG

RASHAAD BATES

RASHAAD BATES of Tech Literacy and The E-Waste Gang, spoke to us last Thursday and gave us a look into his organization which concentrates on teaching tech literacy, familiarity with computers, computer repair skills, and effective ways to recycle electronic waste. Their group also offers affordable tech repair for businesses and individuals. Founded in 2022, E-Waste Gang provides several tech related services to youth and seniors such as workshops aimed at educating the students in the technical aspects of computer repair, operation, and use, giving hands on experience in electronic repairs, and getting the community involved in reducing expensive electronic waste through recycling and reuse of products.
He has worked with the Carver Center, The Literacy Council, Excessive Path, and other organization by bringing workshops the them, helping educate the community on the possibilities offered in the electronic future.
Rashaad presented a few examples of how electronic waste can be turnd into fascinating decorations, clocks, and coasters. These were made in his workshops and are part of teaching the skills needed for repair work.

He encouraged us to donate old computer equipment, cell phones, and tablets to his group for repair and renewing.
Below is an overview of E-Waste Gang and contact information.

Thank You
Rashaad
