A few weeks ago , we had representatives from the group POWER UP UKRAINE as guest speakers. They spoke of the need for power generation units in much of the war torn areas of the Ukraine and spoke of how several local Rotary Clubs are contributing to the cause.
Our Board has decided to donate $500 toward the purchase of a power unit for this cause.

Hi Everyone -
The Yard sale is just over a month away. September 19th.
So get cleaning out your attics and garages.
We will be accepting your "treasures" at each of the Thursday meetings. You can also drop your items off to my house at 42 Pinetree Dr. in Audubon no later than September 15th.
Also - We need volunteers to help with the selling of items and Rotary itself.
Spring cleaning = treasure waiting to be found! If your closets, basements, or garages are bursting with goodies you no longer need, don’t toss — turn them into fun (and fundraising)!
What’s happening....On September 19 we’ll be at the Lower Providence Community Yard Sale from 8:00 AM–2:00 PM. Diane Helm will collect gently used, re-sellable items at a Rotary Table to raise funds for the Club. How to help.....Bring your donations to any Rotary meeting by September 10. Want to join the fun on the day? Sign up for a 2-hour shift to chat with shoppers. Share what the Norristown Rotary does, and help sell great finds. Why join....Clear clutter, earn smiles, and support the Club — plus hunting for bargains is half the fun! We already have several Rotary members living in Lower Providence, and we’d love more hands and friendly faces. Questions or want to sign up? EWe "boomers" are now the "sandwich" generation and We need to learn to take care of ourselves in order to be there for our family members who need us.​W
This is the statement of the organization Boomers 'R Heroes stating clearly the mission of the organization.
Last Thursday the Club welcomed the CEO of the group , JEAN KIRKLEY, who gave us an outline of the goals and programs that they offer those who are giving elder care to others in need. Jean founded Boomers 'R Heroes in 2011, with the aim of helping those giving caregiver services a space to relate with other care givers, and receive support by way of programs, group discussions, and interfacing with others in the same situation. She stated that many don't even realize that they are , in fact, caregivers, and may not notice that effect this may be having on their health. She tries to bring attention to those individuals, pointing out the need that they stay healthy, as if they fail in health, there may be nobody to cover for them.
Jean saw the need for them to keep a certain ammout time for themselves, and for them to get assistance when things get too difficult, and this is where BRH can step in.
She offers meetings for caregivers in several areas such as: Alzheimers support, grief and overall support, and general support. All aimed at educating and presenting foundational support , always stressing the often overlooked fact, that caregiving takes a tool on the givers.
