Dr. BEV WEINBERG - INTEGRATE FOR GOOD
Last Thursday, Dr. BEV WEINBERG , Executive Director of INTEGRATE FOR GOOD, spoke to the club about the organization's activities. The group, which she founded, started in 2018 and was incorporated in2019, offers a unique approach to aiding the community of disabled, and disadvantaged individuals. They strive to present opportunities for their students, empowering those with diverse abilities and backgrounds with opportunities to blend their
talents for volunteering, finding suitable employment, and giving leadership training. She stressed that they are not a charity but rather an organization that recognizes the importance of replacing lovelessness and social isolation with with professional, educational, and community connections.
Integrate for Good partners with several local corporations to provide work preparation education, and employment opportunities. Their program centers on several important areas such as countering loneliness, an Empowerment Lab which improves self esteem and helps individuals prepare an extensive resume for theirselves, Leadership instruction, Language development for business environments, and an Executive fundamentals skill lab.
They work to open doors on school campuses, first in high schools then in colleges - Temple and Ursinus.
Bev presented a video highlighting the organization and showed us one of their community projects- producing and distributing sleeping mats made from donated plastic bags. These are given to homeless and underprivileged kids.
