Student Achievement

THE WALL OF FAME
The Rotary Club of Norristown is proud to recognize students from three local area high schools for their performance excellence.  The club works with school's guidance department to identify potential award recipients.  Recipients and parents are invited as our lunch guest where presentations are made. The Rotary club understands the high cost of education and monetary awards are in the form of scholarships, and offered interest free student loans.

Student Scholarships:
Each year the club awards a student scholarship for $2000 to a student from the Norristown, Plymouth Whitemarsh and Methacton High Schools.  Scholarship applications are available through and at the recommendation of the school guidance counselor.  Please contact your school counselor for more information about the process and timing.  Applications are to be completed and returned back to the Student Guidance Department at the school, not to the Rotary club.  Completed applications should exemplify student's strong character, good academic record, community service to others, leadership in school activities, ranking in the top one third of their class.  Please list extracurricular activities, community service, leadership roles, employment and include the counselor recommendation.
Applications for the top four students from each school are selected by the guidance department will be forwarded to the Norristown Rotary Student Loan Fund Committee for review and selection of the recipient from each school. Award checks will be payable to the post high school institution which the recipient plans to attend.

Achievement Awards:
Each spring and fall the club recognizes students from Norristown, Plymouth Whitemarsh and Methacton High Schools, who are selected by their guidance counselor and display outstanding performance in academics, technology, business, the arts, and community service to receive the Rotary Student Achievement Award.    We are proud to have them on our "Wall of Fame".
