May 2, 2013 - Club member Rev. Robert Schmidt gave a fascinating personal account of his very own participation in the historic demonstration march which traveled from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965 in order to protest discriminatory and intimidation practices against black voter registration.  His trip experience began as he departed seminary school and traveled to Washington, then by train to join the march on the outskirts of Montgomery, traveling on to central Montgomery, the state capital, where  protest was made to the Governor's office.  Bob's personal and factual description of the political and social attitudes of the day put the historical milestone in perspective for many in the room. The entire talk is video recorded here.  Thank you Bob for sharing.
